Progress Continues....

We had originally planned to come to Merida for a week in May or June, but the ticket prices are really high. We would only save about 100.00 US coming through Cancun. I'm not sure why ticket prices are so high, I could fly to Spain or Rome for the same price as to Cancun or Merida. So it looks like we will stay in St Louis unless I can find a last minute deal.
I am really eager to see all the changes and the progress. I want to sit down with Roger and discuss the pool design and the changes we want to make to the casita he originally designed. Carlos feels the same way. We can do it through e-mail and skype, but it's not the same as face-to-face standing in our backyard pointing and pacing.
But in the meantime Arturo keeps me going with his photos and his updates....

The pace quickens..

Since I received the last photos a week or so ago, it seems like so much more has been accomplished. Arturo told us that the finishing construction seems to fly vs the slow pace of the building construction. Here are some things that have been accomplished:

The septic tank hole has been dug in front of the house. We discussed several places to locate it and decided here was best as it could be emptied easily.

Tiling continues on the lower level of the house, the promenade, the half bath and the downstairs bedroom are all done.
The wood workings are beginning to arrive as you can see by this replica door.

The upstairs terrace is done and the downstairs terrace has been started.
I'm not sure what or why this is on my roof... any ideas?

So this is the update for this week. It's moving right along!
