My current list! |
The last two times we've gone to Merida I have brought things down that I either treasure or was afraid I wouldn't find easily. A few items I've hauled down, I've found at one of thee many stores I've explored. This past December I made a list as I either could not find the item at one of the many stores I visited or did not like the brands or it was way overpriced. I keep a suitcase in the bedroom and as I shop around St Louis, I check out the clearance items and add to my suitcase. Today I checked out all the items I've purchased since our return in January.
I never could find deep woods off around Merida! (and only 1.00 each on clearance) |
More clearance items..7.00 us for the mosquito racket. |
100% cotton percale sheets! (and only 20.00 on clearance!) |
From Thailand, a treasured gift from a friend! |
Two of the pillow |
This is the material for me to make more couch pillows! |
This looks like one of my suitcases when I go back to the states for a visit! On advice from friends I usually take everything out of the packaging so it appears to be "used." The only time my luggage was searched, the dreaded red light, the young woman remarked I must be in the process of moving to Merida! I was curious why you are bringing fabric for pillows with all the incredible fabric stores here?
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is actually napkins that I found on clearance for 1.00 us. I will be making the pillows from these here in the US. I do not have a sewing machine in Merida. When I saw the napkins it reminded me so much of the table clothes from Thailand that I love so much. I will take everything out of the packages when I pack for my real trip! What is it that you bring?
DeleteOnce again I'm using your post as a guideline for my packing list!
ReplyDeleteIn my book you can NEVER have enough textiles and they come in handy for wrapping items.
When are you heading down again?
I hope the month of December and maybe a quick trip before that... I keep chanting...only one or two more years!!!!
